What are the differences? Are they different?

What is witchcraft and what is Wicca?

Wicca and witchcraft are two totally different things. They are like peanut butter and chocolate, they can go together really nicely, but they are perfectly fine separate too.

Witchcraft is a practice, or a craft. Witchcraft in itself is not a religion and does not correlate to one. Witchcraft is something you do. You do not have to believe in specific gods or deities (or at all) to be a witch. To put it really super simple, witchcraft is something you do (usually involving magick) to make your desires and goals a reality.

Wicca IS a religion and it has it’s own belief system. So, you have to believe in the Wiccan gods to be considered Wiccan. You don’t even have to be a witch to be Wiccan. For example, you don’t have to be a priest to be considered Catholic or Christian.

Can I be both?

Of course you can! In fact, many are. Wicca compliments witchcraft, and can add an extra boost to your rituals and spell-work.

What if I don't want to be Wiccan?

That’s perfectly fine! If Wicca really isn’t your thing, I recommend looking at other religions. Why don’t you look Paganism, or even just having some deities? Even if you’re not religious and don’t believe in anything, that’s cool too. Like I said before, witchcraft is just a practice and doesn’t require and sort of belief in a higher power.
